How to rejuvenate the look of the skin around the eyes?

The problem of drooping upper eyelids and excess skin accumulated in the lower eyelids are not only a sign of ageing, but also a genetic problem. Addictions, inadequate care of skin hygiene and excessive fatigue also contribute to the deepening of these unaesthetic imperfections in the eye area. Blefaroplasty is an aesthetic eyelid surgery to visibly restore the skin around the eyes to a younger appearance by removing excess skin. How is the lower and upper eyelid bluffroplasty performed?

Aesthetic surgery of the upper eyelids is carried out under local anaesthesia in outpatient conditions or at the patient's request using shallow intravenous anaesthesia in hospital conditions. In the case of lower eyelid bluffroplasty, cuts are made under general anaesthesia below the ciliary edge, and in the case of upper eyelids the surgeon makes cuts in physiological furrows. This is to minimize the visibility of post-operative scars. Blefaroplasty is performed by a plastic surgeon. Thin sutures are removed on day 7 after surgery. The return to normal functioning occurs 1-2 weeks after the surgery and the final effect will be noticed by patients within 6-8 weeks after the surgery. During convalescence it is recommended to use cool poultices. After the treatment, the eyelids seem to be rejuvenated by up to 10 years, but this does not stop their natural ageing process. Chemical and physical treatments can be performed in batches after consultation with a doctor and a cosmetologist.

What are the contraindications to the procedure?

Patients with severe heart disease, diabetes or unregulated hypertension should not opt for bluffroplasty. It is also impossible to perform the procedure in the case of vascular blemishes, anaemia and purulent inflammation of the face skin.
